The AAE is perfect for Marios. He has been composing his own music for years. In fact, at the Orfeion he studied violin and composition (at the Athens Music Company) side by side. He added viola to his talents later, winning his third diploma.

Although he has written works for choir and orchestra, it is his chamber pieces that have attracted the most attention. His work “Espejos” for string quartet was awarded a special distinction at the 4th Chamber Music Festival of Greece. Perhaps his most ambitious project was Hindemith’s Kammermusik No.5 – Bratschen Konzert. He didn’t just play it, he arranged it for an eight-piece ensemble. The performance, at the renowned “Bios” of Athens, was a great success.

Despite all his writing, Marios manages to keep in touch with the classical side of things as well. He is a member of the State Opera Orchestra and has worked as Principal Viola in their ballet orchestra for the last two years.
