Costas is responsible for bringing the AAE to life. It wasn’t a new idea or a sudden moment of inspiration. Instead it was the logical conclusion of years spent experimenting with music in all its forms.

His masters degree from the conservatory Fonty’s Hogenscholen of Tilburg-Maastricht in Holland speaks for itself. He studied both chamber music and contemporary music, even then interested in new paths. He also put his ideas into practice, forming the Narkissos Ensemble with pianist Valia Tsiblakaki. They performed widely in Holland and beyond.

Back in Greece Costas continued exploring. He regularly plays as a soloist with the Greek Composers Society under the direction of Theodoros Antoniou and is a permanent member of the Greek Ensemble of Contemporary Music. His position as Principal First violin in the Greek State Opera Orchestra also gives him plenty of opportunities to explore modern works on a much larger scale.

Living in Greece doesn’t mean that Costas has stopped performing in the rest of Europe. His 2004 Berlin performance “Visions”, for violin, tape and video art was highly acclaimed. The work was later released on CD by Amicme Classical (Universal). Kostas also enjoys encouraging younger people to explore music. He has given masterclasses both in America and throughout Europe.
