This is not a string quartet, it is much more. The Modern-e-Quartet embodies the very ethos of the AAE. We aren’t just four classically trained musicians playing modern music on electric instruments. Many more people are involved in the process. We have composers from around the world writing works for us. Currently we are working with people from Greece, USA, Britain and Holland. Working with these composers is an important part of what we do. And not just composers. We have several works that involve video art as well. Indeed, we welcome collaborations with any type of artist.

There is also a fifth member of our quartet, our sound engineer Kostas Bokos. Sound “sculptor” would be a more accurate description of what he does. With Kostas B. we search for sounds and effects that the composer has only been able to hear in their head until then. These are brought to life in the studio, before finally becoming the unique concert events that only the Modern-e-Quartet can accomplish.
