The AA Trio began life in 2005. If the Modern-e-quartet is the cutting edge of the AAE, the trio bridges the gap between modern and classical. It demonstrates our jointly held belief that pursuing the new doesn’t have to mean ignoring the old. Our concerts often combine Beethoven and Shostakovich with specially commissioned pieces written for us by one of the composers that works with the AAE.

One of our recent successes (March 2009) was a sell-out London concert featuring works by Sophia Serghi, the acclaimed composer and professor resident at Williamsburg University(USA).
