Valia arrived at the Fonty’s Hogenscholen in Holland after doing a two-year masters in Vienna. She shared Kostas’ interests in exploring modern music and they soon formed a duo which, in 1996, became the Narkissos ensemble. The ensemble performed all over Europe and was something of a prototype version of what the AAE was to become.

Valia’s genuine passion for modern music can be seen in her continuing studies in advanced theory and harmony. She is a professor of several Athens conservatories and has also taught widely in Holland.

All this theory doesn’t stop her performing. She has recorded for Greek State Radio, worked as a soloist for the Greek Composers Society, the Greek Ensemble of Contemporary Music and has given numerous recitals, both in Greece and Europe.
